Program Note: Inspired by the title of Glyk’s album “Feelings,” Pulse explores the connection between music and emotions while allowing the dancers to play with the balance between community and individuality. “I come from a family of bass players and have trained as a

musician as well as a dancer. My musical background informs all of my work as a choreographer. With this commission for Harvard Contemporary Collective I am choosing to use my work as a platform to draw awareness to the artistic achievements

of outstanding women bass players by celebrating Kinga Glyk’s incredible talent. -Jessie
